Lieutenant Ray McCormack of the FDNY is a dedicated firefighter who is not shy of expressing his thoughts and opinions about the fire service. In 2010 he gave an impassioned speech titled “True Values of a Fireman.” This video was pulled due to a technicality however it remains a shining example of the passion that has driven the fire service to great achievements. Some, like Ed Hartin disagree with some of what Lt. McCormack has to say but it is clear (to me) that both sides have merit founded on years of experience as firefighters.
